As I begin each new creation with a vision of a finished piece, it is the process itself that most fascinates me.  Often at the mercy of all of the factors and influences that can affect the ultimate outcome, it is the process itself that has defined my work.  My pieces attempt to bring together a blend of form, color and texture that asks the viewer to look closely, explore the surface with your fingertips as well as your eves.  Look for the details and nuances of the clay surface, and, as I do, consider the irregularities and surface imperfections as gifts from the kilns.  I have found that the clay speaks to me on a visceral level, becoming a vehicle for my creative energies, allowing me to make each piece as an individual expression.
