Making a Vase
I learned how to make these textural vases in a workshop by Randy Brodnax that was put on by the Junction Clay Arts Guild. I find them ever fun to do and they are all unique. The process is done with clay slip where colorant and a substance called sodiun silicate are mixed together. From this mixture I can get the textural effects on the outside of the vessel. It reminds me of the textures and colors of the desert as wind and rain change the surrounding landscape.
