JCAG Website –
Andrea gave a demonstration of the new improved JCAG websiter. One of the main benefits of using this technology for our membership is that it gives individual members the ability to add pictures, documents, etc. without having to purchase and learn special software. This means that each member can institute and maintain their own content without having to rely on a “web master” to do these things for them. This increases the accessibility of our web site by leaps and bounds and makes it a truly dynamic web presence, continually evolving and improving as members tweak the content within their own folders.
The new website will also allow us to post our calendar of events, have a “blog” area similar to Clay Art where questions and answers can be posted, and an area for news feeds.
To update your folder, your dues must be current. Contact Harold Snider for your user name and password. pottery@gvii.net
JCAG Pottery Sale Signs -
Mark proposed a different design for our sale signs that would allow us to get 4 signs from a 4’ x 8’ sheet of plywood instead of two. He also brought a couple of mock-up designs on cardboard. Ron and Harold purchased materials for the signs 2-4-06 and the construction is in progress.
Mini-workshop by Dennis Haberkorn –
Pat has talked with Dennis about doing a demonstration at one of our meetings and will continue this, as there was a lot of interest in seeing this come about.
Studio Tour date –
It was decided to avoid the date of the Wine Tour for our studio tour, based on input from Sue Parker and Melanie Doerpholz. The Wine tour is September 14th – 17th. It was felt that early October would be a better time for this event.
Adopt a Street -
Susan suggested that a good public service activity for the Guild would to be to adopt a street. This would be good exposure for the Guild, as there would be signs with our name on them, identifying us as the adopters. Susan will follow up and find out all of what would be involved on this idea and report back to the Guild in the future.
