12-15-05
Present at the meeting
Cindy Logue, Ron Cloyd, Ronda Clark, Pat Feinberg, Rog Coman, Susan Wallace, Joan Woodward, Betty Cotter, Mark Joyce, Joanie Post, Felicie Williams, Nina Williams, and Harold Snider. Even though the meeting was primarily social, we did discuss a few items of interest for the upcoming year.
Reserve the First Congregational Church
In order to procure the most favorable dates for the Guild sales events, it was decided to pick the dates for the Spring and Holiday sales early and contact the church as soon as possible. The preliminary dates chosen were – May 5th & 6th for the spring event and November 10th & 11th for the holiday event. Harold will contact the church and attempt to secure these dates.
Promotional options for JCAG events
Mark shared an option for low-cost printing (Vistaprint) for mailing pieces for the Guild. A possible funding source for doing something like this would be to apply for a grant from the Grand Junction Commission on Arts and Culture.
Pictures for promotional purposes
There is a need for dramatic, good quality photos that can be used in the print media to promote JCAG events. Let’s all go through the many photos that we have taken at our group events and bring them to the next meeting and decide which ones we can use.
Venues for JCAG work to be showcased
Among the possible venues proposed were: Community Hospital, the Visitors Center, Walker Field Airport, and the Grand Junction Library.
Outdoor signs for JCAG events
The feeling among the members present was that there was a definite need for professional appearing signs to promote our group events. Ron volunteered to take the lead on this project. He will be needing assistance from several of us when the time comes to fabricate these.
Alternative advertising of JCAG events
It was suggested that we check with the Daily Sentinel prior to our next event.
Studio Tour
The date for the 2006 studio tour will be discussed at the next meeting.
