Lana Wilson at the Art Center
Lana Wilson will be at The Art Center Saturday, June 17 through Monday, June 19 to demonstrate easy and unsusual construction techniques using soft slabs of clay to make simple and complex forms. 
Projects will include a teapot, vase and bas-relief tiles. Stiff slabs will be used to make a box with a workable drawer, a movable door, and an inset niche. Lana will show slides of her work, discuss different ways to make intricate multi-level stamps and demo unusual handles. She will talk about glazes, glazing techniques, and firing in the electric kiln. There will be some hands-on utilizing Lana's techniques, with an opportunity to add your own unique twists!
Lana, a passionate handbuilder, has given 75 workshops and been in over 160 shows. She has written a columnn for Clay Times magazine since 1996, and was a simultaneous demonstrator at NCECA in 2003. She has been on the Discovery Channel twice ex-tolling the delights of working in clay. Lana relishes the questions and humor invoked during workshops.
